Brevard Health & Racquet Club offers a seasonal outdoor junior olympic pool with a jacuzzi and large deck for sunbathing. We also offer an indoor heated junior olympic pool for year-round swimming. We feature a variety of swimming programs to fit our patrons' needs.

Aqua Classes

Jump right into our aqua classes and build cardiovascular fitness and strength. Just like swimming, our water aerobics classes are easy on your joints, yet challenging enough to help you reach new levels of fitness. Because of their low-impact format, water aerobics classes are suitable for every age and fitness level, from beginning exercisers through elite athletes. Participants may bring and use their own water shoes and gloves.

Aqua Classes We Offer

ARTHRITIS/FIBRO: (LOW-IMPACT) Aquatic exercise focusing on posture, strength, endurance, balance, range of motion, and flexibility.

PUMP H2O: (INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED) Fast-paced, “fat-burning” program using resistance for over-all conditioning. This program uses vertical positioning aqua jogging, along with aerobics and includes specific exercises for strengthening back and abdominal muscles.

AQUA FIT: (HIGH INTENSITY) Fast-paced “complete” workout with total body conditioning. A great way to energize your day!

WATER GYM: (INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED) A vigorous, deep-water cardiovascular and aerobic exercise with emphasis on range of motion, strength, endurance, and balance.

Masters Swim Team (USMS)

BHRC offers a USMS Workout Group. Master Swimmers who wish to compete must register with USMS online. Click Here To Register BHRC

Masters Swim provides organized workouts for adults age 18 and over. Programs are open to all adult swimmers (fitness, tri-athlete, competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming. Masters Swim helps swimmers improve fitness and/or train for specific goals, and offers active support for a healthy lifestyle through friendship and camaraderie. Masters Swim Group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

$25 for 1 month or $5 per class for members
$85 for a 10 Class Pass or $10 per class for non-members

The Brevard Health & Racquet Club White Squirrel Swim Team for ages 5-18 provides a safe, fun, and encouraging swim environment for competitive swimming. We foster good character and sportsmanship while helping swimmers reach their full potential in and out of the water through positive reinforcement and experiential learning.

This USAS team practices and competes Septemer through April. They travel around North Carolina to nearby pools, such as Asheville School and Hickory Foundation YMCA, to compete with other USAS teams.

The Bearacuda Swim Team for kids ages 5-18 years runs from the beginning of June through the end of July. The Bearacuda Swim Team competes in the Blue Ridge Swim League against local clubs in the Asheville/Hendersonville/Waynesville area. This program creates an opportunity for kids to participate in swim meets throughout the summer. The program provides a healthy, fun, and encouraging swim environment with an emphasis on training and teaching all levels of swimmers proper stroke technique, streamlining, and balance in the water. Fostering good health, character, and sportsmanship, along with helping swimmers reach their fullest potential in and out of the water, are some of the goals this team strives to reach, along with teaching kids a love of swimming.

Swim Club seeks to provide a healthy, fun, and encouraging swim environment that trains and teaches swimmers ages 6-18. We foster good health, character, and sportsmanship, along with helping swimmers reach their fullest potential in and out of the water.

Swimming is an essential lifesaving skill, plus an excellent form of exercise. Swim Club helps kids become more active by getting in the water, swimming laps, and playing games. We also educate kids about swimming nutrition and the benefits of keeping our bodies healthy.

Swim Lessons (Summer)

Group Swim lessons take place in the summer. Sessions will take place Monday-Thursday each week, for 6 weeks, starting June 2015. Each session includes four lessons that last 40 minutes each. Students may register for as many weeks as they would like. Three sessions of swim levels will be offered each day to accommodate the Red Cross program 'Learn to Swim.' Two sessions of the Guardian/Baby class will be offered throughout the summer.

Private Swim Lessons (Year Round)

We offer one-on-one private swim lessons, along with one-on-two semi-private swim lessons through out the year. This gives swimmers an opportunity to learn at their own pace during the time of day that is conveinent for them. Private swim lessons are for any age and type of swimmer. We work hard to help you reach your individual swimming goals.
